Peonies are one of the best signs of summer

About five years ago, I moved the peony bed from around the back and down to the left to immediately on the right once you enter the farm. They are literally the first site I see each time I arrive at Peachtree Circle farm. The bed is approximately 30 by 60 feet. The peony plants are well-spaced, and when they are about to start blooming, you cannont see the ground where they are growing.

Each plant produces close to thirty of those giant, soft, white or various shades of pink flowers - layers and layers of petals bursting from a golf ball-sized ball, slightly sweet scent. They are gorgeous. And they are blooming like crazy at the farm. I know - I see them as soon as I pull in.
